Danny Jones, 74, of the Midway community near Union City, went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, December 19, 2018, at his home with his wife of 54 years, Mary Sue Jones, by his side.
Danny was born April 12, 1944 in Perryville, Tennessee to the late Theodore Pearl "Carter" Jones and the late Mary Jewell (Holland) Case. He married Mary Sue (Earp) Jones on September 6, 1964. Danny spent much of his childhood in Perryville in the home of Amzie and Vernel Brown who were his uncle and aunt. He had many fond memories of his childhood with his cousins and close relative and friend J.W. Johnson.
He is also survived by two sons, Dale Jones (Melissa) of Franklin and Darrell Jones (Amy) of McKenzie; four grandchildren, Marley Jones and Lila Jones both of Franklin, Caitlin Byars (Kaleb) of Knoxville, and Will Jones of McKenzie; one brother, Tony Jones (Marlene) of Athens, Alabama; two nephews, Sherman Cooper and Jason Cooper of Union City; and one niece, Tonia Turner (John) of New Orleans, LA.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Deborah Cooper; and one nephew, Mark Jones.
Danny had been employed as assistant manager of the former Terrell's IGA, manager of Save-A-Lot, and co-owner of Hometown OxyCare all in Union City. Danny had been the pastor of the former Faith Assembly Church in Union City and attended Manna Ministries. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2018 in the chapel of Edmaiston - Mosley Funeral Home. His sons Dale Jones and Darrell Jones will officiate. Burial will follow at Stanley Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston - Mosley Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of services on Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Will Jones, Kaleb Byars, Jeff Mobbs, Scott Wisener, Michael Stephenson, Clint Worrell, and Doyle Flowers.
