Mr. Danny Eugene Hopper, 69, of Hornbeak died 11:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014, at the home of his daughter, Cathy (Hopper) McDonald in Carrier Mills, Illinois.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Charles Southerland will officiate. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Staggs, Delbert Robinson, Donny Holt III, James Simmons, David Tegethoff and Roger Parsons.
Mr. Hopper was born March 2, 1945, in Obion County, son of the late Leslie Eugene and Annie Olean (James) Hopper. He married Joyce (Johnson) Hopper March 29, 1986. She died July 11, 2013. Mr. Hopper had been employed at the former Reelfoot Packing Company and was a member of Hornbeak Baptist Church.
He is also survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Donny and Yolanda Holt of Caruthersville, Missouri, Terry Hopper of Oakland and David and Jeannie Schoppa of Athens, Alabama; one sister and brother-in-law, Janie and Johnny Eaves of Hornbeak; one brother and sister-in-law, Donnie and Pattie Hopper of Hornbeak; eight grandchildren, Kelly Holt , Meronica Holt, Donny Holt III, Jacob Holt and Tami Darnell all of Caruthersville, Missouri, Dustin Corum of Braggadocio, Missouri, Austin Neel of Carrier Mills, Illinois and Katie Hopper of Brunswick, Georgia; and six great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two sons, Jackie Holt and Anthony Holt; and his son-in-law, Forrest McDonald.
