Danny Lee Cunningham, 71, of Obion passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hosptial.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Troy First Baptist Church. Brother Tony Jones will officiate. Brother Jamie Parker and Brother Rick Roberts will assist. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Paul Albright, Jamil Homra, Thomas Hicks, Shane Cole, Donnie Walton and Jay Cooley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Stacy Jordan, Larry Albright, Roger Parson and Gary Southerland.

Visitation will be held at Troy First Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.

Danny was born December 31, 1950, in Dyersburg, son of Mable (Davis) Cunningham of Obion and the late Nathan Wyatt Cunningham. He married Cathy (Abshire) Cunningham August 31, 2001. She survives. Danny served as Obion County Sheriff and Obion County Chief Deputy for many years. He retired from the Tennessee National Guard and served as jail inspector for the state of Tennessee from 1990 to 1997. Danny was a member of Troy First Baptist Church. He was an avid antique collector and dealer.

He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Dana and Jamie Parker of Chattanooga, Heath and Christie Cunningham of Troy and Crystal and Damon Foster and Bradi and Richie Collins all of Union City; his brother and sister-in-law, David and Gay Cunningham of Obion; eight grandchildren, Jerron Parker of Chattanooga, Wyatt Cunningham, Kane Cunningham and Lakeland "Butter" Tubbs all of Troy, Gage Lewis of New York City and Drake Cruce, Emma Collins and Carson Collins all of Union City; his beloved niece and husband, Katey and Bryan Hastings of Obion; his great nephew, Layne Stover of Obion; and his great niece, Kennedy Hastings of Obion.

He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Emily Taylor Parker.
