Obituary

Mrs. Damon Marie (Glover) Hodge, 80, of Hickman, Kentucky passed away 3:15 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Union City First Church of God where she was a member. Brother Ron Gray, Brother Richard Triplett and Brother David Colp will officiate. Burial will follow in Hickman City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Union City First Church of God on Saturday, May 25, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Clint Pentecost, Nick Snisky, Tim Southards, Jance Snisky, David Colp and Andrew Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Elmer Glover, Ronnie Workman, Dr. Johnny Duckworth, Steve Jones, Don Graeter, Jim Jackson and Keith Slayden.

Mrs. Hodge was born April 3, 1939 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, daughter of the late Gaither B. Glover, and Marie(Wheeler)Glover.
She married William R. Hodge on December 24, 1976. He preceded her in death on December 8, 1992.
Mrs. Hodge was a member of The First Church of God in Hickman, KY. She served this congregation faithfully as the church pianist for over 40 years. She was a founding member of the Board of Trustees, and served as president of the WCG-Women of the Church of God. She served as Sunday School teacher, church secretary, and youth group organizer. She also ran the music program. She served her church proudly with steadfast dedication and faithfulness.
Among the many volunteer duties within the church, she was also an active member of the community. She volunteered at numerous school functions, reading to school children through the 7 minute program, countless raffles, fundraisers, and endless bake sales.
She had a love for baking and was known for her delicious cakes, and caramel icing. If you were from Hickman, or the surrounding area, you knew of Damon's Cakes. She loved sharing recipes and cooking with her daughters and grandchildren. Family and service to her church was at the very heart of who she was.
She is survived by four daughters, Lesa Workman of Mayfield, Kentucky, Sherri Tucker(Nathaniel Ogden) of Union City, Julie Jackson ( Dale) of Hickman, Kentucky and Heather Graeter(Drew) of Louisville, KY. She is survived by one sister, Claudia Triplett (Richard) of Dayton, Ohio, nine grandchildren, Rachel Maxwell and Justin Warmath (Callie) both of Paducah, Kentucky; April Turner of Symsonia, Kentucky, Summer Wood(Eric) of Camden, North Carolina, Leslie Beth Jackson, Will Jackson, and Luke Jackson, all of Hickman, Kentucky and Abrie Graeter and Drake Graeter both of Louisville, Kentucky; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn Sue Glover and Shirley Ann Jones.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that expressions of sympathy be given in memory to the First Church of God, Union City, TN.
