Dallas Gene McBride, 83, of Union City passed away 10:22 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2023, in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Tommy Roper will officiate. Burial will follow in Cobbs Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday and from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Monday.
Pallbearers will be Dustin McBride, Keegan McBride, Tyler McBride, Jeff Allen, Mike True and Zach Roberts.
Dallas was born March 12, 1939, in the Possum Trot community, son of the late Vernon B. "Candy" and Viola (Hutchison) McBride. He married Sarah Nell (Blanton) McBride March 20, 1981. She preceded him in death November 13, 1995. Dallas was a 1957 graduate of the former Dixie High School and was a member of Star of Bethlehem Assembly of God. Dallas was known in the area having worked for McAdoo Builders and Homestead. He loved sports especially baseball and basketball and impacted many youth in the community thru those sports. Dallas was instrumental in forming Little League baseball at the former Dixie School.
He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Donna McBride of Rives, Gary and Melinda McBride of Troy and Kyle and Kristi McBride of Jackson; two stepsons and the spouse of one, Mike Kendall of Tiptonville and Keith and Deana Kendall of the Shawtown community; his companion, Rebecca Dunning of Union City; his sister, Peggy Covey of Union City; six grandchildren, Dustin McBride (Rebecca), Lindsey Strauser (Adam), Randi Lynn Moore and Tyler McBride (Madison) all of Union City, Brittany Allen (Jeff) of Troy and Sara Jane Kendall of the Shawtown community; seven great grandchildren, Keegan McBride, Hannah Strauser, Caden Strauser, Nash Holt McBride and Rhett Moore all of Union City and Madelyn Allen and Sophie Allen both of Troy; and a host of other family and friends.
