Dale (Myers) Brinkley, 81, of Union City went home to be with the Lord 9:20 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2022, at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Justin Hiens will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be James Pinion, Jake Battle, Cole Battle, Steven Warner, Jeremy Keathley, Justin Keathley, Chris Williams and Jeff Stone.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday and from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Monday.
Dale was born November 15, 1940, in Obion County, daughter of the late Henry Clarence and Dora Elizabeth (Ross) Myers. She married Billy Michael "Mike" Brinkley July 3, 1959. He preceded her in death August 28, 2001. Dale was a 1957 graduate of the former Dixie High School where she was Valedictorian of her class, was a cheerleader and was a member of the Future Homemakers of America and the BETA Club. She had been employed at State Farm Insurance in Union City for the late Jim Stone, the late Russ Hammonds and Chris Williams. Dale retired from State Farm at the age of 77 due to health issues. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Union City where she had been a ladies Sunday School teacher for many years.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Bobbie Brinkley of Troy and Danny and Deborah Brinkley of the Clayton community; one daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Jerry Phares of Dothan, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Michael Brinkley (Mary Ann) of Martin, Nicholas Brinkley (Sarah), Brittney Brinkley and Chelsey Brinkley all of Union City; Jackie Warner (Stephen) of the Clayton community, Savannah Brinkley of Troy, Jake Battle of Dothan, Georgia and Cole Battle of Portland, Orgeon; and nine great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Betty Vaughan, Patsy Meacham, Ruthie Flowers Arnold and Lauraette Pinion.
