Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Vernon Alexander will officiate. Burial will follow in Hickman City Cemetery .
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Hec Rice, Bobby Rice, Kendall Rice, Jason Rice, Barry Rice, Brandon Rice and Lukas Rice.
Mr. Rice was born August 14, 1915, in Humphreys County, son of the late Charles H. and Fannie Mae (Potter) Rice. He had been employed at the former Brown Shoe Company in Union City and was a member of the former Church of Jesus Christ in Hickman, Kentucky.
He is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell and Jo Ann Rice, Roger and Jeanie Rice and Johnny and Billie Kay Rice all of Union City and Curtis and Marlene Rice of Farmington, Kentucky; his sister, Gladys Turner of Clinton, Kentucky; twelve grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of fifty three years, Birdie Mae (Wilmath) Rice, his second wife, Wilma Edgin Rice; his son, Donald Rice; two sisters, Hallie Bullington and Christine Mills; and five brothers, Lloyd Rice, Robert Rice, Howard Rice, Raymond Rice and Paul J. Rice.
