Obituary

Mr. C.T. Brooks, Jr., 82, of Rives passed away 11:22 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2018, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother John Blackwell will officiate. Burial will follow in Alamo Cemetery near Rives.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Wainscott, Alex Wainscott, Lance Brooks, Curtis Johnson, Jamie Crockett and Larry Coleman.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday.

Mr. Brooks was born May 6, 1935, son of the late Charlie Thomas and Virlean (Hill) Brooks. He married Velma Joyce (Robertson) Brooks December 24, 1954. She survives. C.T. retired from the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Union City and was a farmer and avid gardener. He was a member of Mt. Pelia Baptist Church and served as a deacon.

He is also survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Keith Wainscott of Jackson; one son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Lisa Brooks of Rives; five grandchildren and the spouses of two, Andrew and Melissa Wainscott of Smyrna, Elizabeth Wainscott and Alex and Ashley Wainscott all of Jackson, Lance Brooks of Martin and Ali Brooks of Dyer; one great granddaughter, Serenity Brooks of Dyer; and two sisters, Edna Alline Yarbrough of Tracy, California and Louise Roberts of Dyersburg.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn McCullar; and three brothers, Arthur Brooks, Paul Brooks and Sam Brooks.
