Colleen E. Petty, 84, of Union City went home to be with the Lord at 2:35 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Jerry Leggett will officiate. Entombment will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren: Charles David â??Daveâ? Sanders Jr. and Justin Dallas Sanders, both of Huntingdon, and Jason Lee Sanders of Buena Vista; her great-grandson, Jonathan Lane Jackson of Clinton, Ky.; and her sons-in-law, John M. Kelly and Robert â??Buzzâ? Daugherty, both of Clinton. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters: Dana Elizabeth Jackson of Clinton and Holly Nicole Oâ??Neal of Paducah, Ky.; and William â??Cottonâ? Perryman.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services Friday.
The family requests that memorials be made to Union City Second Baptist Church, 831 North Everett Blvd., Union City, TN 38261.
She was born April 7, 1929, in Dyersburg, daughter of the Milas Edward and Charity Elizabeth (Flowers) Fitzgerald. She married the Rev. Harville Petty Feb. 1, 1945. He died Oct. 22, 2012. She was a homemaker and a member of Union City Second Baptist Church.
She is also survived by three daughters, Carolyn E. Daugherty and Norma Kay Kelly, both of Clinton, and Katherine Annette Sanders of Lexington; her sister, Junette Witherspoon of Clinton; her brother, Milas Edward Fitzgerald Jr. of Kenton; and four great-grandchildren, Wyatt Lee Sanders and Analee Elizabeth Sanders, both of Buena Vista, Charlee Danette Sanders of Huntingdon and Jonathan Lane Jackson of Clinton.
