October 31, 1950 – March 12, 2022
Chester Wayne Crone, 71, of Obion passed away 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Eddie Mallonee will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Dukedom.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Crow, Johnie Hodge, Justin Hodge, Mike Lynch, Ed Southern and Jim Brubaker.
Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Crone, Mike Crone, Larry Cooke, Chris Cummings, Bob Ivey, Don Byrd, James Armstrong, Bobby Joe Driver, Ivan Bradley, Gary Powell and members of Jones Walker VFW Post 4862 in Union City.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial to: Jones-Walker VFW Post 4862 , 3915 North Clover Street, Union City, Tn. 38261.
Chester was born October 31, 1950, in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of the late Cecil and Bessie (Shaw) Crone. He is survived by his wife, Pamela (Harwood) Crone whom he married December 18, 2010. Chester had been employed at the former Bekaert Steel in Dyersburg and Southern Machinery and the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Union City. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Chester currently served as commander of Jones Walker VFW Post 4862 in Union City where he was a life member, and was a member of Western Sun Masonic Lodge in Troy and the American Legion in Martin.
He is also survived by one daughter, Chandra Crone of Aubrey, Texas; three sons, Eric Crone of Carlinville, Illinois, Johnie Hodge (Pualani) of Obion and Justin Hodge (Amanda) of Hornbeak; eight grandchildren, Kylie Braun (Jerrod) of Denton, Texas, Kinsey Crow and Jacob Crow both of Aubrey, Texas, Maria Valles and Adriana Valles both of Jackson, Kandice Hodge of Hornbeak and Joey Whitten and Tyler Bruce both of Union City; one great granddaughter, Aurora Whitten of Union City; and three brothers including Mike Crone (Sandy) of Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters; and four brothers.
