She had been a cook a Union City Manor Nursing Home for 19 years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Al-Anon.

Mrs. Short is survived by her husband, Bob Short of Union City whom she married on March 15, 1971; two sons, Jimmy Short of Hornbeak and Richard Short of Portage, Indiana; her brother, Walter Anderson of Mora, Minnesota; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Short and Kevin Short; and two brothers, David Anderson and Alvin Anderson.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Melvin Poe will officate. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery with Jimmy Short, Rich Short, Tony Swift, David Kirk, Jessie Hanks and Paul Jackson serving as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be member of the Never Alone Group.

Her family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
