September 2, 1947 – October 31, 2021
Mr. Charles D. Inniss, Sr., 74, of Union City passed away 10:59 p.m. Sunday, October 31, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.
Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2021, at First Pentecostal Church in Union City. Brother Billy Uzzle will officiate.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday and at First Pentecostal Church from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
Charles was born September 2, 1947, in Freetown, Sierra Leone West Africa, son of the late Albert D. and Elizabeth (Coker) Inniss. He married Carmelita (Nelson) Inniss August 22, 1985. She survives. Charles served in the United States Army for 10 years where he received the rank of sergeant. He was then employed by the United States Postal Service and worked security at Clint Eastwood's Golf Course in Pebble Beach, California. Charles was a member of First Pentecostal Church in Union City and was baptized in 1948 in Sierra Leone, West Africa.
He is also survived by three daughters, Jessica Osborne of Union City, Seraphina Inniss of West Africa and Brittany Inniss of Columbus, Ohio; four sons, Charles Inniss, Jr. of West Africa, Corey Thomas and wife Sarah of Union City, Perry Jackson and wife Starla of Jackson and Frederick Thomas of Salinas, California; one sister, Elizabeth Leaye of West Africa; one brother, Michael Coker of Fresno, California; eighteen grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Barbara Irby of Murray, Kentucky; and two brothers-in-law, Cedric Irby and wife Sharon of Glen Carbon, Illinois and Reginald Irby of Metropolis, Illinois.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Conrad Inniss; and one sister, Isabella Inniss.
