Mr. Charles E. "Chuck" Slaughter, 78, of Troy died suddenly Friday night at his home.

There will be no services. Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.

Mr. Slaughter was born November 6, 1933, in Lathem, son of the late Orville Slaughter and the late Odell (Bailey) Teague. He married the former Barbara Reynolds on April 3, 1952. She survives. He was a musician and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

He is also survived by two sons, Kenneth Slaughter of Troy and Mike Slaughter of West Palm Beach, Florida; his sister, Linda Anderson of Flint, Michigan; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Desiree Rerick.
