Rev. Walter Charles Pruitte, 76, of Troy passed away 3:02 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2017, at Diversicare of Martin.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Rev. Dennis Croslin and Rev. Danny Sellers will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Simmons, Billy Knight, Kenneth Knight, Johnny Scott, Doug Voorhees and Wayne Smith.
He was born May 25, 1941, in Lebanon, son of the late Alonzo and Mollie Bell Pruitte. Rev. Pruitte married Peggy (Knight) Pruitte September 20, 1986. She survives. He was a retired vocational teacher, minister and of the Church of God faith.
He is also survived by one son, Tony Pruitte of Charleston, South Carolina; one stepdaughter and her husband, Patty and Donnie Hopper of Hornbeak; one stepson and his wife, Joe and Tammy Roberson of Troy; one sister, Ruby Zeildorf of Lebanon; two granddaughters, Alexis Roberson of Obion and Celine Roberson of Gadsden; and one great granddaughter, Khloee Roberson of Obion.
He was also preceded in death by five sisters; and four brothers.
