Obituary

Charles A. Powell, 77 of Union City, TN, entered into eternal peace with the Lord at his home Wednesday, April 20th, 2016.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Turner Powell, united in marriage on September 24, 1987.
Children: Keith Powell - wife Sheila, Gina Bennett - husband Paul, Jill Powell, Jason Powell - wife Becky, Lori Hopkins and Becky Hopkins.
Grand children: Montana Powell, April Sumruld - husband Travis, Logan Bennett, Eli and Ethan Powell, Great grandson-Drake Powell,
Brother James (Jim) Powell.
Charles was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn (King) Powell, Parents-Thomas E. and Maudie Ray (Dot) Powell, Brothers: Robert and Tommy Powell.
Graduated Union City High School.  Served in the Army with distinction. Charles was owner and operator of Powell Construction Company where he and his wife Linda worked together as a team for 28 years.  Charles enjoyed work, family gatherings, traveling, history, reading, hunting, fishing, watching the Tennessee Vols and most importantly spending time with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ.  Charles loved Jesus and was a devoted husband, beloved dad and granddad.  He gave love and compassion to all he knew and received it as well.  True definition of a gentle man.  One day not too far out, those who share in his faith in the one and only Savior, Jesus Christ, will join him in Heaven.  Until then, his family and friends will stand strong in the Lord!
Celebrations of Life visitation will begin Saturday, April 23rd, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral home with funeral service at 12:00 P.M. conducted by Pastor Billy Sizemore, long time friend and employee.  Burial will follow at East View Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be the greatest team of employees a man could ever ask for: Federico Hurtado, Kenny Davis, Wesley Walden, Gerald Donnell, and the greatest of friends, Mike Ward and Joe Simpson.
We all love you so much Charles and we know you are so happy in Heaven!  See you later!
