Mr. Charles L. "Donnie" Noles, 63, of Union City went home to be with the Lord at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Ben Lownsdale and Brother Rick Burton will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services on Sunday.
Pallbearers will be John Kirk, Joe Kirk, Joe Wall, Joe Newton, Tim Shumate, Johnson Linder, Ginette Craddock, Darlene Knopp and Connie Betz.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the human resources team at Tyson and Larry and Brenda Gray.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Hometown Walk of Hope, P.O. Box 482, Union City, Tennessee 38281 or Woodland Mills First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 8, Woodland Mills, Tennessee 38271 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Donnie was born February 18, 1950, in Fulton, Kentucky, son of the late Charles Attebery and Geneva Rue (Stinnett) Noles. He married Fonda (Kirk) Noles April 27, 1986. She survives. Donnie received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Murray (Ky.) State University. Upon completion of his master's degree, he taught in the Special Education Department at Murray State for seven years. He worked for seventeen years with the Tennessee Department of Corrections and served as warden at three different West Tennessee correctional facilities during his tenure with the state. At the time of his death Donnie was employed as the complex human resources manager at Tyson Foods Inc. in Union City for seventeen years. He was a active member of Woodland Mills First Baptist Church where he formerly served as Sunday School director. Donnie coached Little League baseball at Woodland Mills for several years and is past president of the Runnin' Rebels Booster Club at Obion County Central High School.
He is also survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Stephanie and Roy Hodges of St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands and Natalie Noles of Union City; four sons and one daughter-in-law, Charles Seth and Amber Noles of Owensboro, Kentucky, and Ben Noles, Heath Noles and Tanner Noles all of Union City; and four grandchildren, Allie Noles, Talon Janes and Maddy Cook all of Owensboro, Kentucky and Dalton Noles of Dyersburg.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Leigh Anne Neal.
