Charles was born October 21, 1943, in the Three Way community of Gibson County, son of the late Cecil and Algie (Warren) Morris. He and his parents eventually moved to a farm outside of Gleason, Tennessee. There, he met his sweetheart Martha (Anderson) Morris whom he married on September 14, 1963.

Charles graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a Masters Degree in Education. He taught math and social studies and eventually became Principal and football coach at Troy Elementary and later Hillcrest Elementary. Charles was a lifelong educator, but more than that he was a mentor. He was a giving person. And much of that came in the form of helping underprivileged children. Charles made sure those families that struggled financially had a Christmas to be thankful for. He touched so many lives during his profession of 38 years.

His hobbies included going on cruises with Martha and friends; spending time hunting and fishing with family and friends; gardening - he was the G.O.A.T. at growing tomatoes, often supplying the neighborhood and half of the town; spending time in his workshop and his early mornings at Autry's at the "Table of Knowledge: telling tall tales. Charles was a member of Troy Methodist Church.

Charles was a wonderful son, husband, father and grandfather. He worshipped his parents, and loved his wife Martha. He was proud of his two children and even prouder of his six grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Martha Morris of Troy; his son, Tim Morris and wife Julie of Eads; his daughter, Tracey Malone of Troy; and his six grandchildren, Gregg Morris, Cayce Morris, Allie Morris, Mattie Malone, A.J. Malone and Warren Malone.
