Mr. Charles Raymond "Blue" Grooms, 79, of Union City passed away 3:05 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2018, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Charles Southerland will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Martin, Jamie Crittendon, Terry Crittendon, Vic Smith, Bobby Joe Smith and Doug Worley.
Honorary pallbearers will be his buddies from Preuett's Quik Mart and Donnie Sutton
Mr. Charles was born September 4, 1938, in Obion County, son of the late John Raymond and Gaynell (Priest) Grooms. He married Wanda (McKenzie) Grooms December 20, 1960. She passed away June 3, 2006. Mr. Charles was a truck driver for Barker Brothers Waste and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
He is survived by one son, Ricky Grooms of Union City; one grandson, Brandon Grooms of Union City; one brother, Gary Grooms of South Fulton; a life long friend Donnie Sutton and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter and son-in-law, Gaye and Barry Owsley; one brother, Frank Grooms and a daughter-in-law, Theresa Grooms.
