Rev. Charles Ellis Clark, 85, of the Shawtown Community, died 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Beech Creek Pentecostal Church in Beech Creek, Ky. Rev. Roy Loney will officiate. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City, Ky.
Rev. Clark was born November 11, 1923, in Central City, Ky., son of the late Charlie Virdie and Jennie (Vincent) Clark. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber after 18 ½ years of service. He was a member of the Beech Creek Pentecostal Church where he was the former pastor. He was also a World War II Army veteran.
Survivors include one son, Alvin Lear of the Shawtown Community, two daughters, Glenda Sue Gregory and Ann Saylor of Bremen, Ky. and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Charline Simms and four sister.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday and after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at Beech Creek Pentecostal Church in Beech Creek, Ky.
Friends will serve as pallbearers.
