Carolyn Sue (Durham) Newsom, 73, of Obion went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly Thursday, December 26, 2024, at her home.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Stanley's Chapel Cemetery. Brother Chip Davis will officiate.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Saturday at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Cody Wetzel, Jon Moore, Gary Southerland, Brad Southerland, James Daniels and David Wilmath.

Carolyn was born July 12, 1951, in Lake County, daughter of the late James Andrew and Selma Laveda (Sanford) Durham. She married Robert Gilbert Newsom April 28, 1969. Carolyn was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years Gilbert Newsom of Obion; her daughter, Diana Choate and husband David of Obion; two grandchildren, Ashley Wetzel and husband Cody of Hornbeak and Kyle Choate of Obion; one great grandson, Michael Wetzel of Hornbeak; two sisters, Jewel Durham Newsom of the Midway community and Betty Ann Durham Maynard of South Fulton; and one brother, Jimmy Harris Durham of Hornbeak.

She was also preceded in death by one infant brother.
