Mr. Carol Edward Thomas, 81, of Union City passed away 2:20 a.m. Sunday, November 8, 2020, at his home.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday at East View Cemetery. Brother Chip Davis will officiate.
There will be no visitation and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at service time.
Family request that masks be worn at the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, family request memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Lake Road Baptist Church, 1366 E Highway 22, Union City, Tn. 38261.
Mr. Thomas was born January 26, 1939, in Myrtle, Ms., son of the late Quitman Rogers and Edith Eloise (Duncan) Thomas. He married Frances (Hickman) Thomas September 28, 1959. She survives. He worked for the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as an electrician for 31 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, member of the Goodyear Wingfoot Retiree Club and American Legion in Hickman. He was also a member of Lake Road Baptist Church where he was a former deacon.
He is also survived by one son, David Thomas (Julia) of Burns, Tn.; one daughter, Lori Thomas of Union City; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Peggy Mathis (Jack) of New Albany, Ms. and Edith Dees of Myrtle, Ms.; and one brother, John Thomas (Annette) of Heber Springs, Ar.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Ima Jean Thomas and four brothers, Hugh Thomas, Bill Thomas, Travis Thomas and Lee Thomas.
