Obituary

Carl Thomas Richardson (Mr. Carl), 76, of Union City/ Rapid City, SD, passed away Tuesday, October 3rd at 7:00 pm after a short, hard-fought battle with cancer.

Carl was born October 28th, 1940 in Hickman, KY. Son of the late Mike and Josephine (Blasingim) Richardson. He married Erika (Angeli) Richardson on October 2nd, 1961.

Carl was a Vietnam Veteran and retired from the US Air Force as a MSGT in 1979. He was an entrepreneur and owned businesses in South Dakota as well as Tennessee. Carl loved fishing, and cooking. He especially loved sitting in his rocking chair and waving to good friends Patti and George.

Carl was a very caring and compassionate man often putting others needs ahead of his own.

Carl is survived by one son, Michael Richardson of Rapid City, SD. Three daughters Diana (Dan Papka) Hogan of Spearfish, SD, Arlene (Barry) Krecow of Traverse City, MI and Heidi (Brandt) Williams of Sioux Falls, SD.

Carl was known as "Opa" to his 4 grandchildren; Shay Hogan, Hunter and Carson Krecow and Judd Williams. They will remember him as a practical joker and a man who loved them very much.

Carl was a member of the 1st Church of God in Union City. Being a modest man, Carl requested no public funeral service. The family would like to thank Darlene and Craig Simmons for their love and support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Carl's name to the 1st Church of God @ 415 S Miles Avenue, Union City, TN 38261. Cards may be sent to 1015 N Old Troy Road, Union City, TN 38261.
