March 19, 1930 – May 12, 2019
Mrs. Camilla Jean (Ams) Council, 89, of Union City passed away 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 12, 2019, at the Obion County Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Mark Lambert and Brother Henry Callison will officiate. Burial will follow in Brownsville (Ky) Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday
Pallbearers will be Christopher Bowman, James Luker, Gene Baggett, Parker Kendall, Dustin Pollard and Mason Vancleave.
Mrs. Council was born March 19, 1930, in Fulton County, Kentucky, daughter of the late William Wallace and Wilma (Donnell) Ams. She married Vollie Junior Council July 10, 1949. He preceded her in death October 30, 1995. Mrs. Council had been employed at the former Salant & Salant in Union City and was a homemaker. She was a member of David's Chapel Baptist Church.
She is survived by four daughters, Carolyn Tidwell and Vollie Boehms (Ray) all of Troy, Joyce Baggett (Gene) of the Crystal community and Rosanna Bowman of Union City; two sisters, Patricia Russellburg of Evansville, Indiana and Norma Sue Council of Bradenton, Florida; eleven grandchildren, Tracye Jowers (Larry) of the Crystal community, Angie Kendall (Kelvin) of Hornbeak, Amy Dickson (Robert) and Melissa Cantrell (Jason) all of Texas, Regina Vancleave (Cory) of Martin, Pamela Luker and James Luker both Kenton, Gene Baggett Jr. of Hickman, Kentucky, Christopher Bowman of Nashville, Nyanza Luker, Jillian Bowman (Tasha) all of Union City; twenty great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Ann Jackson of the Crystal community; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Homer Luker; her son-in-law, Pete Tidwell; three sisters, Gwenda Jo Ams, Mary Dean Ams and Linda Impson; and four brothers, George Donnell Ams, William "Bill" Ams, Dale Ams and Gerald Ams.
