Obituary

Mr. Buddy Dwayne Long, 76, of Troy passed away 6:55 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother William Matheny will officiate. Burial will follow in Elbridge Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services on Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be John Davis, Kevin Green, Ricky Green, Lisa Treece, Don Shepherd and Neven Barnett.

Buddy was born April 1, 1946, Troy, son of the late Ben and Katie (DeWitt) Long. He married Martha (Breeden) Long February 22, 1970. She survives. He was a truck driver for the former Reelfoot Packing Company and Barker Brothers Waste. Buddy, also known as Papa, was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam conflict and attended Graves Chapel Church of God near Hornbeak.

He is also survived by two sons, Danny Daniels and Jamie Long (Penny) both of Martin; two daughters, Lisa McDaniel (Doyle) and Heather Pate (Mike) both of Troy; 21 grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren; one sister, Lee Cleek (James) of Troy; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Bobby Breeden; and two great grandchildren, Aiden Cross and Amora Grace Baker.
