Buck Killion's Obituary
Mr. James Parnell "Buck" Killion, 93, of Union City passed away 12:05 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Union City Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Union City. Rev. Tim Atkins and Rev. Jimmy Calhoun will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Clint Killion, Kane Killion, Cole Killion, Chase Killion, Bob Montgomery and Jim Harrelson.
Honorary pallbearers will be member of the Character Builders Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church and members of the Hardee's Coffee Club.
Mr. Killion was born July 19, 1923, in Union City, son of the late Emerson Angus and Goldie Leona (Cole) Killion. He first married Helen (Conley) Killion who preceded him in death on April 29, 1983.After her passing, he then married Joanne (Ozment) Chivers Killion January 21, 1991. She survives. He retired after 34 years of service with the United Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. Mr. Killion was a member of First United Methodist Church in Union City where he had sung in the choir for 45 years and was a member of the Character Builders Sunday School Class, had served on the board of stewards, served as Sunday School superintendent and taught Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Union City Civitan Club where he was a past president. Mr. Killion was in the United States Coast Guard during Word War II.
He is also survived by one daughter, Melissa Ann Killion of Arlington, Kentucky; two grandsons, Clint (Jessica) Killion of Smyrna and Kane (Amanda) Killion of Melbourne, Florida; three great grandchildren, Cole Killion and Casey Killion both of Smyrna and Chase Killion of Melbourne, Florida; his daughter-in-law, Pam Killion of the Shawtown community; two stepdaughters, Tara (Dale) Kenall of Martin and Leisha Craig of Union City; two stepsons, Arthur (Debbie) Chivers of Union City and Thomas (Martha) Chivers of Houston, Texas; seven step grandchildren; and seven step great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Steve Killion .
