Mr. Robert "Buck" Brown, 89, of the Shawtown Community passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Bobby Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in Cobbs Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Brown, James D. Hutchison, Stacy Hutchison, Hank Hutchison, Taylor Williams, Elex Carter and Timmy Gantt.
Mr. Brown was born August 28, 1927, in Obion County, son of the late B.E. and Helen (Grooms) Brown. He married Nannie Bell "Tincy" (Hutchison) Brown September 19, 1948. She survives. Buck had been employed at the former Lear Siegler and Kohler both in Union City and was also a farmer. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of Samburg Baptist Church.
He is also survived by one daughter, Anne Hayes of Union City; one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and JoAnn Brown of Troy; one granddaughter and her husband Shantelle Brown Gilliam and Dr. Russ Gilliam of Martin; one grandson, Robby Brown of Washington, D.C.; four great grandchildren, Elex Carter of Martin, and William Brown, Blake Brown and Leah Beth Brown all of Washington, D.C.; five step great grandchildren, Sumner Gilliam and Sydney Gilliam both of Knoxville, Cooper Gilliam of Murfreesboro, Grayson Gilliam and Gabe Gilliam both of Martin; one sister, Joanne Calhoun of Tiptonville.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Mozelle Lovett; and one brother, George Brown.
