Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday.

Mr. Ashley was born December 27, 1956, in Muskegon, Michigan, son of the late Bobby Lynn and Joyce Ann (Willett) Ashley. He married the former Julia Grimes on January 30, 1975. She survives. Bryan received his bachelor of science degree in psychology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He was employed as a mental health counselor at Northwest Tennessee Correctional Facility in Tiptonville, served in the United States Air Force where he received a purple heart, and attended Hornbeak Church of Christ.

He is also survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Jane Patton of Hornbeak and Jessica Ann Ashley of Augusta, Georgia; two brothers, Bruce Ashley of Bogachita, Mississippi and Bart Ashley of Troy; four grandchildren, Jackson Lane Patton of Dayton, Tennessee, Raven Denise Patton of Hornbeak, and Briar Logan Mize and Lela Joy Tittle both of Augusta, Georgia; his mother-in-law, Martha Grimes of Union City; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, James Grimes .
