Obituary

Brother Larry Hitesman, 67, of Union City went home to be with the Lord 5:55 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2016, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Saturday at Sunswept Baptist Church in Union City. Brother Steve Carr and Brother James Kinsey will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Sunswept Baptist Church from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be David Owen Tomlinson, Bobby Lafever, Ricky Brown, Bill Hatchett, Willie Bell and Gabe Correa.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Travis, David Tomlinson, Sr., James Petty, Ronnie Robinson, Jimmy Taylor and J.W. Storey.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Sunswept Baptist Church Pulpit Fund, 205 South Sunswept Drive, Union City, Tennessee 38261 or Gideons International .

Brother Larry was born August 15, 1948, in Fort Bell, Bermuda, son of the late Paul Robert and Polly Frances (Clements) Hitesman. He married Debbie (Belcher) Hitesman April 9, 1979. She survives. Prior to entering the ministry Brother Larry had served as assistant plant manager of Levi Strauss in Tyler, Texas and plant manager of the former Gurien Finishing Company in Union City. He was saved on Mother's Day in 1982. Brother Larry served as associate pastor of Sunswept Baptist Church where he had also served as song leader, a Sunday School teacher, outreach minister and as a youth leader. He had a great love for people and his desire was to always tell them about Jesus.

He is also survived by two daughters, Amanda (Andrew) Powell of Union City and Jenny Payne of Jackson; two sons, Rob (Terri) Hitesman of Hickman, Kentucky and Brad (Davie) Hitesman of Sherman, Texas; one sister, Susan McDonald of Denison, Texas; and six grandchildren, Cheyenne Hitesman, Emma Hitesman, Harrison Hitesman, Mika Walley, Caleb Drew Powell and Annie Payne.
