Brother James William Franks, 75, of Union City passed away 10:44 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Robert Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in Cobbs Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Friday.
Pallbearers will be David Weatherly, Andy Hollis, Henry Kiddy, Brandon Sisk, James Allen Clifft and Mike Butler.
Brother Franks was born December 13, 1943, in Savannah, Tn., son of the late Lawrence and Edniral (Duff) Franks. He married Nelda (Spencer) Franks November 3, 1969. She survives. Although presently retired, he pastored many churches in both Kentucky and Tennessee over the past 40 years and was a member of Sunswept Baptist Church.
He is also survived by two daughters, Michelle Franks Thornton of Union City and Marsha Franks Weatherly (David) of Hickman; three grandchildren, Dr. Maegan Hollis (Andy) of Murfreesboro, Leah Weatherly of Hickman, and James Allen Clifft of Union City; two brothers, Sam Franks of Union City and Roy Franks of Newbern; two sisters, Helen Page and Barbara Morris both of Troy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Laura Kate Weatherly; two brothers, J.L. Franks and W.H. Franks; and one sister, Joyce Franks.
