Obituary

Bonnie (Smithson) Alexander Morris, 95, of Memphis passed away 2:02 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2017, at her home. She was a former resident of Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Justin Hiens will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Sunday.

Pallbearers will be Jason Ball, Jeff Ball, Ricky Stover, David Alexander, Bobby Daniel, and
Zack Branch.

Mrs. Alexander Morris was born September 17, 1921, in Obion County, daughter of the late
Alvie and Mary (Gaddis) Smithson. She was married to Claude Alexander from 1939 until
his death in 1978. She was then married to Joe M. Morris from 1983 until his death in 1994.
Ms. Bonnie retired from Martin Manufacturing after 35 years and held various other jobs
at Whitby's Flower Shop, Obion County General Hospital, and Lanzer's Printing. Mrs. Morris was a member of Second Baptist Church in Union City.

Her surviving blended family consists of four daughters, Martha Alexander of Cherryvale, Kansas, Mary Louise Ball of Nashville, Naomi Puckett of Memphis and Carol Little of Paducah, Kentucky; two sons, Stewart Morris of Cunningham, Kentucky and Steve Morris of Arlington,
Kentucky; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and 1 great great
great grandchild; one sister, Joan (Smithson) Howard of Hornbeak; one brother, Alfred Smithson
of Plymouth, Michigan; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Smithson of Union City and Arlene Smithson of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Alexander) Daniel; 2 great grandchildren; three brothers, Hubert Smithson, Alvie "Deak" Smithson, Jr., and Robert "Bobby" Smithson; and two sisters, Byrdie (Smithson) Alexander and Narvelle (Smithson) Eddlemon.
