Bobby Gene Vanhoy, "Uncle Bobby", 89, of Hornbeak passed away 2:25 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2022, at AHC Union City.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Hornbeak Baptist Church. Brother Robert Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak.
Visitation will be held at Hornbeak Baptist Church from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Mitchell Johnson, Sam Accord, Ty Walley, Jerry Fluty, Jodie Baldridge, Tony Angel and Johnny Eaves.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Hornbeak Baptist Church, 258 N. Main St, Hornbeak, Tn. 38232.
Bobby was born September 15, 1932, in Obion, son of the late Willie and Rosie (Garner) Vanhoy. He married Freida (Lovett) Vanhoy February 2, 1953. She preceded him in death April 9, 2017. Bobby served in the United States Army and retired from the state of Tennessee. He was a faithful and dedicated member of Hornbeak Baptist Church and a member of Woodmen of The World.
He is survived by one son, Billy Gene Vanhoy of Springville; two nieces and their husbands, Debi and Joe Jerden of Hornbeak and Sherry and Craig Johnson of Luthersville, Georgia; one nephew and his wife, Dan and Juanita Stacks of Troy and his deceased nephew Glen Stacks widow, Robin Stacks of Hickman, Kentucky.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Billy Junior Vanhoy; and two sisters, Doris Stacks and Elizabeth Younger.
