Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Jerry Leggett and Brother Eddie Mallonee will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Merlin Lyell, Robbie Forrester, David Mayse, Ronnie Roney, Melvin Hollingsworth and O'Neil Baker.
Mr. Mayse was born January 10, 1939, in Obion County, son of Elva (James) Mayse of Union City and the late Lester Mayse. He married Virginia (Hollingsworth) Mayse on June 15, 1962. She survives. He had been employed by the Obion County School System in the maintenance department at Hillcrest Elementary in Troy. He attended Second Baptist Church in Union City.
He is also survived by his son, Michael Mayse of Troy; three grandchildren, Kaycee Mayse, Makayla Mayse and Michael Mayse all of Troy; two sisters, Betty Orr of Troy and Norma Cherry of Memphis; and three brothers, James Mayse of Dresden, Buryl Mayse of Memphis and Glenn Mayse of Martin.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Allen Mayse.
