Robert J. "Bobby Joe" Driver, 82, of Union City passed away 10:45 a.m. Monday, November 7, 2022, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Mickey Hanks will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Rives.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday.
Pallbearers will be John Angus, Brennan Angus, Kevin Hargis, Mike True, Rudy Brooks and Zach Brooks.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Napier, Kelly Cross, Carl Holland, Billy Joe Driver, Bobby Hauser, Bobby Joe Forrester, Russell Caldwell, Jimmy Hill, Shawn Barber, Lonnie Barrett and members of VFW Post 4862.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to VFW Post 4862, 3915 North Clover Street, Union City, Tennessee 38261 or Shriners Hospital for Children, Attn: Processing Center, P.O. Box 947765, Atlanta, Georgia 30394.
Bobby Joe was born February 7, 1940, in Union City, son of the late Lucille (Dunlap) and William Alvin "Bill" Driver. He married Harolyn (Houser) Driver October 8, 1962. She preceded him in death June 21, 2012. Bobby Joe retired from BF Goodrich/ Westlake Chemical Company in Calvert City, Kentucky after more than 40 years of service. He served in the United States Navy for 8 years and retired from the United States Navy Reserve after 25 years of service. Bobby Joe was a lifetime member of Jones Walker VFW Post 4862 in Union City, was a member of Union City Masonic Lodge 538 in Union City, was a Shriner, was a member of the American Legion and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and John Angus of Spring Hill; one son, Bryant Driver of Union City; four grandchildren and the spouse of one, Mary Helen Driver of West Memphis, Arkansas, Elizabeth and Kevin Hargis of Dover, MacKenzie Angus of Cleveland and Brennan Angus of Spring Hill; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Barbara Cross and Bonnie and Wayne Napier all of Union City.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister-in-law, Billy and June Driver and Donnie Driver; and one brother-in-law, Gordon Cross.
