Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at David's Chapel Baptist Church in the Brownsville community near Hickman, Kentucky. Mac McCullough and Brother Charles Southerland will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery near Clinton, Kentucky.
The family will receive friends at David's Chapel Baptist Church from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Todd Carter, Albert Bell II, David McCullough, Ron Costello, Jeff Boyd and Mac McCullough.
Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Bell, Sr., Lamar Lyon, Raymond Douglas, Kevin Bing, Chip Peery and members of the youth group of David's Chapel Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the David's Chapel youth group in care of David's Chapel Baptist Church, 172 State Route 925, Hickman, Kentucky 42050.
Mr. Carter was born August 7, 1943, in Clinton, Kentucky, son of the late James Earl and Louise (Hopper) Carter. He married Deana (Mabry) Carter on November 6, 1965. She survives. He was a faithful member of David's Chapel Baptist Church and served in the United States Army. Mr. Carter was a Mason and a avid pool player known by his friends as "The Shark".
Mr. Carter is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Angel and Tommy Willingham of Union City and Christi and Bryan Cranford of Troy; his son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Carter, Jr. and Brandy Carter of Hickman, Kentucky; four grandchildren and the spouses of two, Ashley Willingham of Union City, Heather and David Piazza of Woodland Mills, Kala Carter of Orland Park, Illinois and Austin and Whitney Parish of the Shawtown community; four great-grandchildren, Taylor Brooke Lane and Collin Carter Lane both of Woodland Mills, Karina Carter of Orland Park, Illinois and Tucker Lynn Parish of the Shawtown community; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Bobby Hopper and Joanie and Dickie Cruce all of Cayce, Kentucky; and four brothers and the four sisters-in-law, Bill and Linda Carter of St. Louis, Missouri, Ed and Mina Carter and Johnny and Susan Carter all of Clinton, Kentucky and Tommy and Vicky Carter of Williamsburg, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Peery and Jane Dublin; and two brothers, Jim Carter and Joe Neal Carter.
