Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Paul Adams and Brother Jerry Leggett will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday.
At Mr. Rives' request cremation will follow the service.
Memorials may take the form of donations to the vetrans service organization of the donor's choice.
Mr. Rives was born November 15, 1938, in Obion County, son of the late Clifford Hale Rives Jr. and the late Martha (Davidson) Rives. He married Wanda (Adams) Rives on September 2, 1962. She survives. Bob was an avid golfer and sailor. He had been a competitive sail boat racer for many years. He was a regular at the Bennett's Backroom Coffee Club. Bob was a retired self employed cardiac care sales represenative in Jacksonville, Florida and served in the United States Navy for 8 1/2 years.
He is also survived by two sons, Cliff Rives of Jacksonville, Florida and Rob Rives of New York City, New York; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Anna Ruth Crocker and George Easley both of Union City and Linnie and Joe Burns of Brandon, Mississippi; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Easley.
