Obituary

Mr. Bob Lasater, 88, of Union City went home to be with the Lord at 4:25 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, at Union City Manor Nursing Home.

Funeral services for Mr. Lasater will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Eddie Mallonee will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of services Sunday.

Pallbearers will be Marty Lannom, Larry Vernon, Dr. Kirk Stone, J.B. Murphy Jr., David Harmon and Dan Waddell.

Honorarary pallbearers will be Brad Boucher, Troy Arnold, Daniel Taylor, Jerry Duncan, Jarrod Ulen, Brian Burcham, David Fortson, Randy Roberson, Danny Jones, Danny Ervin, Bo Ryder and Brent Carr.

Mr. Lasater was born May 20, 1923, in Lake County, son of the late William Marvin and Verdie Helen (Crocker) Lasater. He was a self employed piano tuner and served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Lasater was a member of Second Baptist Church where he had served as the church organist for fifty four years. He served as a Deacon, a men's Sunday school teacher and had been a volunteer in the nursing home ministry for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Bettye (Johnson) Lasater, of Union City, whom he married on June 3, 1956; his son, Kevin Lasater of Union City; his daughter, Lynnette Lasater of Atlanta Georgia; and two sisters, Wilma Weaver of Union City and Thelma Allen of Savannah.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Delmar Lasater and Omer Burress; and three sisters, Lennie Jimmerson, Mildred Matheney and Aletha Evanson.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions take the form of donations to Second Baptist Church Building Fund or Benevolence Fund, 831 N. Everett Blvd., Union City, Tennessee 38261.
