Obituary

Brandon James "B.J." Cohn, 46, of Obion passed away Monday morning, October 31, 2022, at Lauderdale Community Hospital in Ripley as the result of injuries sustained in a automobile accident.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Matt Hoffman will officiate. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Jordan Davis, Jared McIntosh, Billy Lucas, Bobby Lucas, Jamie Whitehead, Bobby Joe Roberson, Paul Stroud and Eric Island.

B.J. was born November 9, 1975, in Kettering, Ohio, son of Garry Cohn of Samburg and Debbie (Burke) Aker of Obion. He married Dianne (Pollock) Cohn June 7, 1998. She survives. B.J. was a 1994 graduate of Obion County Central High School and held a bachelor of science degree and master's degree in school counseling. He was employed as the school counselor at Ripley Middle School where he served as assistant middle school football coach and was head baseball coach at Ripley High School. B.J. was a member of Samburg Assembly of God where he was the former youth director for many years. He was a former member of the Obion Fire Department where he had served as chief.

He is also survived by one sister, Tassie Smith (Jeremy) of Troy; his step father, Thomas Aker of Obion; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Janice Pollock of Union City; his sister-in-law. Melisa Pollock of Union City; two nieces, Jordan Lynch (Jacob) of Hornbeak and Holly Kussmann (Josh) of Union City; one nephew, Rusty Smith (Christan) of Hornbeak; and his great nieces and nephews, Burke Lynch, Paityn Lynch and Tinzlee Joe Smith all of Hornbeak and Karsyn Kussmann and Eevee Kussmann both of Union City.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Jacob Alan Cohn; and his grandparents, John and Margaret Burke and Russell and Norma Cohn.
