Mr. Billy Ray Tanner, 71, of Troy died 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at his home.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Moriah Cemetery near Obion. Mark McCullough and Roger Fisher will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Robert King, John Buchanan, Mark Baker, Doyle McDaniel, Barry McDaniel, Mike Ursery, Larry Tanner and Jason McDaniel.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Tanner was born August 31, 1941, in Hornbeak, son of the late Gleen and Eva (Goodman) Tanner. He married Sara (Padgett) Tanner January 10, 1964. She survives. Mr. Tanner had been employed at the former Salant & Salant for 21 years. He retired from the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Union City after 23 years of service. He was a member of Berea Church of Christ.
He is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Christy and Tim Page of Murfreesboro and Darla and John Beasley of Gleason; two sisters, Glynell McDaniel of Troy and Ernestine King of Union City; three granddaughters, Nicole Page and Leah Page both of Murfreesboro and Katelyn Dick of Gleason; and two step granddaughters, Chandler Beasley and Chelsea Beasley both of Gleason.
