Billy Carson Vaughn, Sr., 86, of Union City went home to be with the Lord 6:04 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022, in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Dale Green will officiate.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday, December 27, 2022.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, the late Aaron Carson Vaughn, Trey Preuett, Ethan Vaughn, Johnny Gantt, Adam Baldwin, Josh Roberson, David Pooler, Brady Chandler and Lane Akers.

Honorary pallbearers will be his great grandsons, Sawyer Roberson, Wyatt Gantt, Reagan Vaughn, Porter Roberson, Micah Rivera, Benjamin Aaron Vaughn, Brayden Preuett and Coleson Vaughn. Mr. Vaughn also has eight great granddaughters, Harly Gantt, AnneBelle Baldwin, Lyla Baldwin, Chamberlyn Vaughn, Audrey Riveria, Willow Preuett, Lucy Rae Chandler and Ellie Marie Chandler.

Billy was born May 1, 1936, in Martin, son of the late Ben Carson and Frances Elizabeth (Greer) Vaughn. He married Geneva (Green) Vaughn July 16, 1955. She survives. Billy was a retired project supervisor for the former Holloway Construction Company for 20 years and retired from the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 15 years of service. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Union City and was a Gideon and an ordained deacon.

He is also survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Larry Preuett, Jr. of Union City; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Billy Vaughn Jr. and Karen Vaughn of Stuart, Florida and Bobby Dale Vaughn of Union City; one brother, Jerry Lynn Vaughn of Union City; ten grandchildren, the late Special Operations Chief (SEAL) Aaron Carson Vaughn, Courtney Vaughn Gantt (Johnny) of Hornbeak, Tara Baldwin (Adam) of Palm City, Florida, Hailey Preuett of Union City, Ashleigh Roberson (Josh) of Union City, Trey Preuett (Kate) of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Ethan Vaughn (Kaitlynn) of Troy, Ana Pooler (David) of Stuart, Florida, Billie Dee Chandler (Brady) of Jackson and Stella Akers (Lane) of Union City; and sixteen great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Vaughn.
