Rev. Billy McGarity, 55, of Union City went home to be with the Lord 8:27 p.m. Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Presbyterian Church in Troy. Elder Deon Barnes and Elder Frank Dalton will officiate.

Graveside services be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at New Hope Cemetery in Sheridan, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Bill Smith, Justin Russell, Zach Buckland, Beau Bovee, R.B. Tolar and Jonathan Williams.

Visitation will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church from 5:00 p.m.until the hour of services Tuesday.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Billy was born December 16, 1965, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, son of the late Billy "Pete" Burton and Dolores (McCoy) McGarity. He married Gaye Lynn (Gregory) McGarity February 25, 1989. She survives. Billy received his masters of divinity from Whitefield Theological Seminary. He served as teaching elder of Grace Presbyterian Church in Troy and was a member of Covenant Presbytery.

He is also survived by two daughters, Audrey Ashcroft and her husband Joshua of Lynchburg, Virginia and Breannon Schaffer and her husband Bobby of Hickman, Kentucky; one grandson, Gregory Ashcroft of Lynchburg, Virginia; one sister, Sandy Henry and her husband Mike Sheridan, Arkansas; two brothers, Phil McGarity and his wife Carol and Britt McGarity and his wife Mandy all of Sheridan, Arkansas; and his close personal friend, Pete Brown of Mountain View, Arkansas.
