Obituary

Billy Ray Keeling, 73, of Elbridge passed away 9:50 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Rick Knoll will officiate. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Smith, Jr., Heath Keeling, Brian Thomason, Kenneth Stover, Randy Via and Tony Henson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ty Keeling, Hank Keeling, Mark Keeling, Luke Keeling, John Keeling, Hubert Baker, Thomas Woody, Larry Via and Collie Berry.

Billy Ray was born April 18, 1949, in Dyersburg, son of the late Billy Lawton and Blanche (Whitlow) Keeling. He married Pat (Webb) Keeling November 16, 1968. She survives. Billy Ray retired from the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 40 years of service. He was a member of Oak Ridge Church of Christ, enjoyed riding horses, playing guitar and being Pappaw to his grandchildren.

He is also survived by two daughters, Debbie Keeling Smith (Steve) of Murphy, North Carolina and Lori Keeling (Hubert Baker) of Newbern; one son, Bill Keeling, Jr. (Shelia) of Gleason; four grandchildren, Stephen Smith, Jr. (Areyon) of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Heath Keeling (fiancee Alexia Allen) of Jackson, Amber Nikole Woody (Thomas) of Ellijay, Georgia and Ty Keeling of Gleason; 11 great grandchildren; three sisters, Martha Via Rogers (Allen) of Water Valley, Mississippi, Vickie Hale of Union City and Betty Harling (Joey) of Elbridge; four brothers, Hank Keeling (Rachel) of the Shawtown community, Mark Keeling (Susanne) of North Charleston, South Carolina, Luke Keeling (Sherry) of the Sidonia community and John Keeling (Cindy) of Elbridge; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Theresa Jobe; and one brother, Jeff Keeling.
