Mr. Billy Joe "Bill" Turnbow, 77, of Union City went home to be with the Lord 12:05 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Eddie Mallonee will officiate. Entombment will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday. Pallbearers will be Chad Turnbow, Royce Stanley, Kenneth Rhodes, David Kelly, Seth Lamphier and Charlie Bone.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Hometown Walk of Hope, P.O. Box 482, Union City, Tennessee 38281.
Mr. Turnbow was born September 7, 1935, in Fulton County, Kentucky, son of the late Martin Luther and Lola (Scott) Turnbow. He married Barbara (Oliver) Turnbow September 1, 1961. She survives. Mr. Turnbow was a retired meat cutter for E.W. James & Sons and served in the United States Army. He attended Second Baptist Church.
He is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Keith Yates and Tammy and Brad Bone all of Union City; four grandchildren, Caitlin Lamphier, Grant Yates, Dalton Bone and Bryleigh Bone all of Union City; two great grandchildren, Bentleigh Lamphier and Briella Lamphier both of Union City; his brother, Clentis Turnbow of Hickman, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James Turnbow.
