Obituary

Mr. William Y. "Bill" Coker, 80, of Union City passed away 11:00 p.m Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at Union City Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Melvin Poe will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Friday.

Pallbearers will be Billy Craddock, David Alan Blurton, Kenneth Coker, David Kissell, Ethan Jacobs and Blake Cheatham.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Calvary Baptist Church "Ladies Choice" Sunday School Class, 2250 East Reelfoot Avenue, Union City, Tennessee.

Bill was born February 20, 1939, in Dyer County, son of the late N.C. "Poly" and Annie Myra (Ketchum) Coker. He married Linda (Emery) Coker August 9, 1986. She survives. Bill had served in the United States Army in Germany and in the Army Reserves. He had been employed as a correctional officer at Lake County Regional Correctional Facility and was of the Baptist faith.

He is also survived by four children, Kim Brunsting (Trey) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jennifer Craddock (Billy) of Troy, Randy Coker (Christine) of Biloxi, Mississippi and David Blurton (Leigh Ann) of Union City; four sisters, Pattie Holt (Terry) of Garland, Texas, Dorothy Navin (Tommy) of Arlington, Texas, Peggy Peevyhouse (Toots) of Dyer and Alice Teague (Jimmy) of Dyersburg; two brothers, Charlie Coker (Eleanor) of Gleason and Jerry Coker (Ramona) of Missouri; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Sue Smith, Jennie Tucker and Myra Horner; and one brother, Alvin Coker.
