Beverly
Haygood
January 13, 1953 – May 11, 2025
Beverly Ann Haygood (née Courtney), age 72, passed away on May 11, 2025, in Union City, Tennessee. Born on January 13, 1953, in Mayfield, Kentucky, Beverly lived a life marked by deep faith and unwavering love for her family.
Beverly devoted many years of her life to childcare and was affectionately known as "Bevvy" to many.
Beverly was a devoted Christian teacher who served faithfully in Sunday School. She had a passion for studying and teaching end-time prophecy and shared her knowledge with others through years of Bible studies in her home and church. Her beautiful soprano voice graced many worship services—now lifted eternally in praise from heaven.
She was a cherished wife, mother, MeMee, sister, and friend. Beverly is survived by her loving husband Patrick of 53 years; daughters Beth (Sam) Vise and Chrissy (Michael) Steffey; grandchildren Noah (Averin) Vise, Abigail Steffey, Nathan Steffey, and Sarah Beth Steffey; great-granddaughter Emerson Ruth Vise; sister-in-law Julia Courtney; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Avery Courtney and Irene Courtney and her brothers Larry Courtney and Gary Courtney.
Beverly's life was one of service—to God, to children, and to those she loved most. Her warmth, wisdom, and song will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home with a funeral service following. Brother Michael Steffey and Brother Melvin Poe will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Nathan Steffey, Noah Vise, Sam Stephens, Kent Hendon, Jim Elliott, Blake Cheatham and Michael Jordan.
