Obituary

Betty Ruth (Forrester) Stogsdill, 95, of Union City went home to be with her Lord Jesus 2:40 a.m. Sunday, September 11, 2022, at The Waters of Union City.

Memorial visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Thursday.

Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Betty was born July 17, 1927, in Union City, to the late Walter James and Susie Elizabeth (McConnell) Forrester. She retired from Sears and Roebuck in Dallas, Texas and moved back home to Union City. Betty was a member of Second Baptist Church. She had a very special love for her grandmother, Lilla (Browning) McConnell and love and memories for Richard Carroll Autrey, her first love. Betty leaves a legacy of her great love for dogs and their love in return. Yes, dogs know good people when they meet them.

She is survived by one daughter, Susie Autrey Weir of Duncanville, Texas who she affectionately referred to as "Her" and "My" Susie; one sister, Dorris J. Forrester of Union City; one grandson and his wife, James M. Neff and April Neff of Lancaster, Texas; one granddaughter, Adrienne A. Sadler of Duncanville, Texas; four beautiful great grandchildren; and many loved nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Leon L. Forrester.

There goes a strong, brave, independent and generous hearted woman....God's blessings and love and tender mercies.
