Mrs. Betty Sue Rhamy, 70, of the Shawtown community passed away 12:58 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother James Gunter will officiate. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday and after 10:00 a.m. Friday.
Pallbearers will be David Alexander, Dale Alexander, James D. Hutchison, Stacy Hutchison, Bryan Cranford, Larry Finch, Daniel Finch and Matt Donnell.
Mrs. Betty was born October 1, 1950, in Obion County, daughter of the late Chester Key and Christine Elizabeth (Morris) Storey. She married Lonnie Rhamy September 20, 1968. He died October 27, 1998. She worked for the former Salant & Salant in Union City and was assistant manager at Subway in Troy for 17 years. Mrs. Betty was a member of Protemus Cumblerland Presbyterian Church where she was an Elder, church secretary, session clerk, piano player and organ player.
She is survived by two sons, James Rhamy (Lisa) of Mt. Pelia and Jason Rhamy (Monika) of Ridgely; 4 grandchildren, Dylan Rhamy of Paris, Hana Rhamy of Ridgely, Ava Kate Rhamy of Ridgely; Staci Robinson (Hunter) of Sharon; and one great grandchild, Paisley Robinson of Sharon.
She was also preceded in death by one son, David Rhamy; one sister, Mary Burgess; and two brothers, Robert Storey and Randall Storey.
