Obituary

Betty Jean Davis, 75, of Union City passed away 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Melvin Poe will officiate. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Friday.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Guy, Ryan Boxx, Joey Tucker, Adam Sadler, Jimmy Smith, Eric Sawyers and Kevin Brown.

Betty was born January 29, 1943, in Carroll County, daughter of the late Roy and Evie (Ellis) Hall. She married Billy Matheny in 1983. He preceded her in death in 1998. She married Junior Davis June 20, 2003. He preceded her in death December 11, 2017. Betty had been employed at the former Brown Shoe Company and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Union City.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Tammy Ross of Troy; two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Duke Turnage of Lenox and Tonya and Harold Cochran of Troy; two sisters, Brenda Brown of Huntingdon and Carol Barker of McLemoresville; four grandchildren, Casey Turnage of Lenox, Mallory and Ryan Boxx of Martin, Jacob Cochran of Troy and Zach Cochran of Obion; one great granddaughter, Emerson Boxx of Martin; three stepsons and their spouses, Robert and Penella Davis of Dyersburg and Mike and Shelia Davis and Charles and Nina Davis all of Union City; six step grandchildren; and nine step great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by the father of her children, Jerry Lee Ross; one daughter, Judy Carol Ross; and one brother, L.J. Hall.
