Obituary

Mrs. Bertie Frances Bowling, 90, of Union City passed away 4:05 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Justin Hiens and Leroy Seagraves will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Roger Rice, Scott McAdoo, Kendall Rice, Brandon Rice, Matthew Hood and Kendall Rice, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Trey Amberg, Joe Busby, Wayne McClure, Morrison McClure, Allen Parker and Glenn Jones.

Bertie was born January 23, 1930, daughter of the late Wallace and Gladys Mae (Tolley) McClure. She married Robert Howard Bass July 8, 1945. He died November 14, 1974. She then married Jamie Bowling June 11, 1982. He survives. She was a homemaker and member of Second Baptist Church in Union City.

She is also survived by five daughters, Jeanie Rice (Roger) of Union City, Shelia Parks of Troy, Paula Rice (Scott McAdoo) of Union City, Rainy Pulley (Roger) of Crossville, TN. and Pam Carroll of Union City; three sons, Donald Howard Bass (Joyce) of Manistee, MI., Jim Bowling of Clifton, TN. and Shane Bowling (Nicole) of Friendship, TN.; three sisters, Hattie McMullin, Brenda Parker (Allen), and Hilda Jones (Glenn) all of Hickman; two brothers, Wayne McClure (Diane) of Union City and Morrison McClure of Hickman; 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Faye Morrow; and two brothers, Jimmy McClure and Josh McClure.
