Obituary

Barry James, 67, of Union City passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning, September 15, 2022, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Second Baptist Church in Union City. Pastor Justin Hiens will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Second Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Jordan James, Travis Graham, Dr. Bill James, Nick Flippen, Ben Glasgow, Kevin Fields, Brian Burcham and Drew Bacon.

Honorary pallbearers will be employees of E.W. James & Sons Supermarkets.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Barry was born May 4, 1955 in Hickman, Kentucky. He married Tami (McDaniel) James August 24, 2014. Barry served as President of E.W. James & Sons Supermarkets, Inc. He enjoyed spending time with his family, riding horses, and taking care of his ranch. Barry was a member of Second Baptist Church. Barry loved his Momma.

He is survived by his wife, Tami James of Union City; his mother and step father, Nancy B. Richards and Charlie Richards of Union City; one son, Jordan James (Amy Neumair) of Union City; one daughter, Jamie James of Kalamazoo, Michigan; one step son, Travis Graham (Frances) of Loretto; two sisters, Nancy Jo Yarbrough (Sonny) and Jenna Glasgow (Jim) all of Union City; one brother, Dr. Bill James of Dyersburg; two grandchildren, Devin and Sierra; and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Joe James.
