Arthur Bryant Burnes, 69, of Union City passed away 8:53 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at his home.

Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Union City Fire Department, 111 North 5th Street, Union City, Tn.  38261.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.

Arthur was born November 21, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late William Bryant and Katheryn Eleanor (Tupper) Burnes. He married Christine Sue (Fink) Burnes December 24, 1989. She survives. Arthur retired from the Union City Fire Department as a fire fighter in 2015 after 25 years of service and served on the Rives Volunteer Fire Department. He had served in the National Guard.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Cory Burnes, Shawn Burnes and Bryant Burnes all of Union City and Orin Burnes (Alex) of Rives; one brother, Lester Burnes (Mary) of Rives; four sisters, Bernice Burnes of Union City, Margaret Burnes and Dorothy Burnes both of Wichita, Kansas and Mary Verland of Muskegon, Michigan; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Burnes.
